  1. What is "Character Development?"
  2. How is "Character Development" progress gauged?
  3. Who decides whether my child is promoted to the next grade, retained in the current grade, or is remanded to summer school?
Answers
  1. The conduct/effort mark is placed under Character Development as a "Conduct Grade." This mark indicates that the student:
    1. follows class and school rules
    2. shows care in the use of personal property
    3. treats teachers with respect
    4. treats students with respect
    5. exercises self-control
    6. listens attentively
    7. uses technology appropriately
  2. Below is a table showing how the scoring works:

  3. The principal in consultation with the teacher makes decisions in accordance with Archdiocesan policy regarding promotion, retention, or summer school. Notice of possible retention is to be communicated to the parents and the District Superintendent on school letterhead no later than the end of the 3rd marking period.
